The Writers' Cafe: "the ultimate high roller game, for those who really wanted to win, and win big, and were not afraid to lose. This derivation was called shades. Once again the typical high roller shade player was not just satisfied with single pots. The shades players were almost always playing double or triple pots. Then the stakes were really high. A shades triple pot round got to be really big, and the enrgy level increased as well"

What Were the More Difficult Mitzvos For You to Take On? | Beyond BT - For Baalei Teshuva and Other Growth Oriented Jews
What Were the More Difficult Mitzvos For You to Take On? | Beyond BT - For Baalei Teshuva and Other Growth Oriented Jews
What were the more difficult Mitzvos for you to take on?
What made it difficult?
What were the keys to success?
Here are some Mitzvos to think about:
Kashrus
Davening
Berachos
Taharas Mishpacha
Tzinus Dress
Regular learning
Reading the parsha twice with explanation
Not wasting time
Knowing there is a G-d
Loving G-d
Fearing G-d
Don’t go after your heart & eyes
Yom Tovim
Trust in G-d
Loving your neighbor as yourself
Loshon Hara
Giving the benefit of the doubt
Helping Others

Oy Vey! They Became Religious! | Cross-Currents: "...Growing up in the thirties and forties they had parents that where Shomer Shabbos, but they received no Yeshiva education. They ate kosher in and Chinese out. However my children, and now their children have had, and will continue to have a strong personal connection to their grandparents. They know they are not Shomer Shabbos, but they also are aware that the Mitzvah of Kibub Av Vem does not stop because their parents are not Frum..."

Oy Vey! They Became Religious! | Cross-Currents: "The daughter has done everything possible to inhibit the parents from having an active relationship with the grandkids. Only on the daughters turf, and only with many conditions. The crying mother is involved in teaching at a Conservative temple in the US and had come to the National Jewish Retreat , a Chabad five day learning program in Colorado last week..."

Tips for Family and Friends | Making a Difference
Tips for Family and Friends Making a Difference: "Many shidduchim have resulted from the collaborative efforts of more than one person. Two or more friends may work together to put together an idea. Or, groups of women and, in some cases, married couples, can get together to form matchmaking groups in their communities. These volunteers are guided by a strong sense of ahavas Yisroel and chesed .
Some of these groups include large organizations like the L'Chayim network and Inve Hagefen in the U.S., There are also Made in Heaven in London, Yashfe in Israel, Yad L'Simcha, the Passaic-Clifton (New Jersey) Shidduch Committee, Simcha Link in Chicago, Kol Simcha in Baltimore, and Sasson V'Simcha in Toronto (we share a name but are not related)."
